It’s tough to make time to write between my puppy, my husband’s doctor appointments and my seven classes I’m teaching at the university. I’m good at giving my writing students advice about this. Following my own advice? Not so much. Not in a world where there’s too many distractions clamoring for my attention.
I chose not to do NaNoWriMo this year for the first time in ages. I didn’t want to add any pressure to my crazy life.
I’m going to try using a timer and doing some quick speed writes. Maybe that will work.
I always advocate for the Pomadoro effect, where you set a timer for 15 minutes, write, then tae a ten minute break. I need to try that again.
I also need to use my library study carrel more, as a place to get away from the demands of work.
I’ll keep you posted.
